Rīga City Municipality relocation support programmes:
“Relocation Support Programme for Highly Qualified Specialists” is intended for companies (applicants) that wish to obtain co‑funding for the relocation of highly qualified specialists to Rīga. Specialists are natural persons who have acquired Latvian resident status within 3 months after the applicant's submission, but no later than 1 month from the start of employment. When concluding an employment contract with a gross salary of not less than EUR 2,500 per month, applicants are additionally granted support of EUR 1,500 per employee from the Rīga Investment and Tourism Agency. One company may receive such support for no more than five employees and for no longer than three months per employee.
“Diaspora Relocation Support Programme” in the amount of EUR 1,845 is intended for natural persons — Latvian nationals who, after residing abroad (the period of residence abroad must have been registered for at least one full year), have returned to live in Rīga and have acquired resident status (registered place of residence in Rīga) not earlier than 180 days before submitting the application, whose first declared place of residence after returning from abroad until the date of application submission (continuously) is within the administrative territory of Rīga City Municipality, who have been continuously employed by a company registered in Latvia for at least the last four months prior to the application submission date and whose gross salary during that period has been at least EUR 2,500.
Ventspils City Municipality relocation support programmes:
The LIVIN Ventspils contact point provides information and advisory support regarding moving to and living in Ventspils. Information is provided both to those who are planning to move, to those who have already begun living in Ventspils, and to those who have lived abroad for an extended period and have returned to Latvia, to Ventspils. Ventspils City Municipality provides assistance in securing housing for qualified specialists with the aim of promoting employment and attracting new specialists; this is regulated by the Ventspils City Council binding regulations No. 29.
Tukums Municipality support programmes:
Tukums Municipality grants a remigration allowance to a family with one or more minor children in its care, whose family members are Latvian citizens or Latvian nationals (holders of temporary or permanent residence permits, Latvian non‑citizens), and who wish to return from residence in another country to Latvia and choose a dwelling located within the administrative territory of Tukums Municipality as their place of residence. The remigration allowance of up to EUR 500 is granted for the purchase of sole housing or to cover actual rental costs for up to two months if the family has registered their residence at the respective property.
Tukums Municipality provides municipal assistance to qualified specialists to secure housing, with the aim of promoting employment and attracting new specialists; this is regulated by the Tukums Municipality Council binding regulations No. 3.
